Dr. Hatouf Sukkarieh, PhD Assistant Professor of Pharmacology Director of the Master's in Pharmacogenomics Director of Research Methodology Chair of the Proposal Review Committee Head of Pharmaceutical Analytical Services Alfaisal University, College of Medicine, Riyadh, KSA Dr. Hatouf Sukkarieh joined Alfaisal University’s College of Medicine as an Assistant Professor of Pharmacology in 2018. She earned her PhD in Pharmacology and Physiology from Rutgers University, New Jersey, USA, in 2013, where her research focused on voltage-gated calcium channels, significantly contributing to drug development processes. In addition to her teaching responsibilities, Dr. Sukkarieh is the Director of the Master's in Pharmacogenomics, emphasizing the importance of genetic screening in precision medicine. She also directs the Research Methodology course, training graduate students in research design and proposal writing. As the Chair of the Proposal Review Committee, she oversees the evaluation of research proposals, ensuring the highest standards of academic integrity and quality. Dr. Sukkarieh has been actively involved in various committees, including the Scientific and Organizing Committees for several prominent conferences and workshops, such as the first deans development workshop and Human Cancer Genome Research Conference. Her commitment to academic excellence is reflected in her administrative roles as she is certified as an external reviewer in accordance with the standards set by the National Commission for Academic Accreditation and Assessment (NCAAA). Recently, she completed an extensive online leadership training program at Harvard University, further enhancing her skills and knowledge in leadership. Her commitment to academic excellence is further demonstrated through her roles on various committees focused on student mentorship Dr. Sukkarieh's dedication to fostering student engagement and collaboration with industry partners enhances the educational experience at Alfaisal University, promoting innovative research and professional growth among students and faculty alike. Before joining Alfaisal University, Dr. Sukkarieh served as an Assistant Professor at King Saud Bin Abdul-Aziz University for Health Sciences, where she taught a wide range of Biomedical Sciences courses. She has been a principal investigator on numerous research projects, focusing on pharmacogenomics, and role of administration of certain drugs on patient’s metabolic pathway. Dr. Sukkarieh has published extensively in high-impact peer-reviewed journals and has presented her work at national and international conferences. Her research interests continue to expand, encompassing the fields of aging, epidemiology, and the clinical implications of pharmacogenomics.
