Randa Almomen, PhD

Dr. Randa is a faculty member in the College of Engineering and Advanced Computing at Alfaisal University, where she also serves as Deputy Director of Alfaisal Artificial Intelligence Center.


She earned her Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Birmingham, UK, with a dissertation on Context Classification for Improved Semantic Understanding of Mathematical Formulae. She also holds an M.Sc. in Computer Science with Merit from the University of Birmingham, where her thesis research focused on Abstracting Symbolic Matrices. In addition, she has a strong background in mathematics, holding a bachelor’s degree in the field from King Saud University.


Her research interests include artificial intelligence, natural language processing, machine learning, and the intersection of computer science and mathematics.


Prior to joining Alfaisal University, Dr. Randa held an assistant professor position at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University.
